Posted June 09, 2010
The 2010 Hospital Physician Partners annual Medical Directors conference received strong reviews from attendees and received an overall approval rating of 4.93 out of 5.0. The conference which was held in Las Vegas, was themed “Fast-Track to Success” and featured a vast array of education and entertainment highlighted by nationally renowned guest lecturers and a ride around the asphalt oval of Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Lecture topics ranged from Sudden Cardiac Arrest in Athletes and Departmental Improvement to Legal Liability and Leadership Best Practices; with CEU’s being offered to attendees.
For entertainment, Directors and thier families were given the thrill of a lifetime with Ride-A-Long experiences around Las vegas Motor Speedway. Participants got to feel the rush of real life racing by riding shotgun in a two seat stock car on a three lap NASCAR qualifying run at speeds up to 168mph. Nearly a dozen truly brave attendees actually participated in the Rookie Driving Experience which included an hour long training followed by participants taking the wheel themselves at speeds up to 130mph.
“I have been a Medical Director for 19 years and have worked with many large national and small local groups,” said one Director attendee. “Our yearly meetings for the past two years with Hospital Physician Partners have far exceed any previous yearly meetings both for quality of content and location.”
Although the exact location and date have not been determined yet, planning will begin in the next 45-60 days according to Vice-President of Marketing and Communications, Al Emerick. “We want to get a head start this year. Between our doctors schedules and the general logistics of getting more than 120 people from all over the country together in one place, you can’t plan too far ahead, “ says Emerick.
